Zella Mae Marriott Boatright, age 85, of Stover, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
She was born March 30, 1929, in Locust, the only daughter of Elmer Floyd and Lola Edith Boyer Marriott. On March 24, 1947, in Cole Camp, Zella was united in marriage to Loren Boatright, who preceded her in death December 17, 2000. She grew up in the Brushy area near Stover and attended Brushy Elementary School and Stover High School. She was a homemaker for most of her life, busy raising her three children and supporting her husband in his work. For a few years she worked at the Morgan County R-II school district in Versailles. Zella had been a member of the Stover First Baptist Church and most recently attended the Family Worship Center in Versailles. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. However, her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and her relationship with her Lord. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie Dean and Carmen Boatright of California and Mark Anthony and Kathy Boatright of Troy, Kansas; one daughter, Carla Sue Gerlt of Versailles; one brother and sister-in-law, Gilbert Ray and Shirley Marriott of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Zella was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clifford Densil and Melvin Ozell Marriott. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover, with the family receiving friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Interment will be in the Stover Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Stover Cemetery or the Golden Age Living Center Guild.
