Woody Bush, age 79, of Stover passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at his home.
It was on the 10th day of September in 1943 that Abraham Napoleon "Poe" and Mary Edwardia (Bias) Bush welcomed their son, Woodrow Douglas, into their home in Morgan County.
On the 4th day of January in 1964, Woody was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Young at Pyrmont Church.
Woody worked as a plant manager for fifty one years for DeLong's Incorporated in Sedalia constructing bridges across the country.
He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
At one time he was a member of the Big Boys Car Club in Versailles. He liked cars and metal fabrication and could fix or build anything he put his mind to.
Woody enjoyed serving his community and served on the Stover Park Board for eight years and served as fire chief for many years.
The most important thing to Woody was his family.
Left to carry on Woody's legacy is his wife Shirley of Stover; two sisters, Mildred Fischer of Boonville and Karen Huff and husband Larry of Versailles; his best friend, Dustin Burton; special friends, Brenda Nolting and Janice Rambo; along with other friends and relatives.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Shelly Ann Bush, a brother, Poe Edward Bush; and a sister, Dorothy Richardson.
A funeral service will be 12:00 noon Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bro. Randy Fischer. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Kurka officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Burton, Robbie Nelms, Larry Kreisel, David Rambo, Myron Fischer, and Alan Fields. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Nolting, Larry Huff, Dennis Boles, Gary Nolting, Brenda Nolting, and Rod Janzen.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shelly Bush Music Scholarship Fund.
