Wm. “Buzz” Webb age 74, of Stover, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at his home.
He was born July 26, 1944, in Stover, a son of Dorsey Woodford and Flossie Jane Goans Webb.
On January 1, 1989, in Stover, Buzz was united in marriage to Glenda K. French Weaver. Glenda survives at their home.
Buzz retired as a security guard at the Millstone Marina in Laurie.
He was a member of the Stover First Baptist Church, where he was the “official” greeter, welcoming people coming to church.
He was an outdoors man, who looked forward to spending time on the lake running his trot line or in his boat fishing. When he wasn’t fishing, he could be found in the woods running his hounds, coon hunting.
He was an avid Stover Bulldog fan, who enjoyed watching all of the sporting events, especially if his grandkids were playing.
Buzz's greatest enjoyment came from being with his family, especially his grandkids. He also looked forward to family reunions where he could be found playing the washtub in the Webb family band.
Most recently he could be found at his daughter’s restaurant, visiting with family and friends and on Fish Friday, frying a mess of fish.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, he is survived by eight children and their spouses, Lisa and Ricky Vansell of Stover; Lana Webb and Teri Ehlers of Firth, Nebraska; Lynette and Jimmy Black of Stover; Wendy and Ralph Kuhlman of Shawnee, Kansas; Andra and Brian Stewart of Macomb, Oklahoma; Zona and Pete Bauer of Liberty; Tommy Weaver of Stover and Tammy Houck of Ozawkie, Kansas; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Nadine Knox of Lincoln; Donna Claiborne of Independence and JoAnn and Gene Shultz of Versailles; ten granddaughters, Ashley, Jessica, Sammy, Crystal, Alledra, Mattie, Myranda, Kaylan, Jayna, Cagney, seven grandsons, Sheldon, Brent, Devin, Jimmy, Zachary, Sage, James, fourteen great grandchildren, Malaki, Addilyn, Ellis, Evan, Graisen, Evelyn, Terrance, James III, Briana, Zeth, Kaylee, Jacob, Amber, Caleb, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Buzz was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dorsey “Buck” Webb, Jr., one sister, Elva Lucille Dilley and one grandson, Eugene Devlin.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 25, at the Stover First Baptist Church with Rev. Dinzel Webb and Rev. Chris Roe officiating. Burial will be in the Kipp Addition of the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Sunday, February 24, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Morgan County R-I-Stover Athletic Department or the Stover First Baptist Church.
