Winford Lee Monteer, age 47 of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007, at his home.
He was born October 1, 1959, in Milan, Missouri, a son of Willis and Gertie Whittle Monteer.
Winford had resided in Trenton for several years. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing and camping.
Survivors include one son, Brandon May of Trenton; one daughter, C.J. May of Trenton; five brothers, Loren Monteer and companion Debra of Sedalia; Everett Monteer and companion Lisa of Sedalia; Larry Monteer and wife Pam of Trenton; Earl Dean Monteer and wife Vanessa of Lincoln; and Milford Monteer and wife Melva of LaMonte; three sisters, Madeline Lawson Middleton and husband Richard of Belton; Willa Mae Lowery and husband Jim of Keota, Oklahoma; and Frances "Dean" Tucker of Sedalia; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ralph Dean Monteer and one sister, Lela Mae Monteer.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 8, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Burial will be in the Pleasant Union Cemetery west of Stover. Tim Monteer, Travis Monteer, Jimmy Firebaugh, Don Batman, J. R. Monteer, Austin Monteer, Barry Monteer and Earl Monteer will serve as casket bearers with Heather Bowen, Chuck Wilson, Tiffiney Proctor, Shawn Monteer, Gary Turley, Mike Pottorff, David Lawson, Dale Pottorff, Charlie Monteer, Ricky Cook and Shannon Dunn serving as honorary bearers.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. - 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 8, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.
