William "Bill" Schrimpf

William J. "Bill" Schrimpf, age 83, of Rocky Mount, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born August 24, 1931, in Jefferson City, a son of Benjamin "Ben" and Bertha Meyer Schrimpf.
Bill was united in marriage to Virginia Scheidt in 1951; and to Sue Gloyd Bartlett in 1985, who survives at their home.
Bill was a 1949 graduate of St. Peter High School in Jefferson City. He served in the United States Air Force attached to the 27th A& E Squadron of the Strategic Air Command, receiving his Honorable discharge in 1953.
Bill owned and operated his own heating, air and sheet metal business in Jefferson City. He retired as the building code enforcement officer from the City of Eldon.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City.
He was an outdoorsman who looked forward to spending time on his boat at the Lake of the Ozarks. He was a licensed pilot, enjoyed woodworking and was an avid Missouri Tiger Fan.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by five children and their spouses: Mike and Netha Schrimpf of Hendersonville, Tennessee; David and Jan Schrimpf of Jefferson City; Ross and Teri Schrimpf of Columbia; step-daughter Ashley and Rich Weaver of Jefferson City and step-son Nathan Bartlett of St. Louis; three brothers: Jerry, Benjamin and Tom Schrimpf all of Jefferson City; his sister Judy Wilson of Jefferson City; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his son Ricky Schrimpf, his sister Jean Bewig and his brother Robert Schrimpf.
A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City with Msgr. Donald Lammers officiating. A Celebration of Life reception will follow the service in Father Ahrens Room. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Peter School will be appreciated.
