Wilda M. McCasland

Wilda M. McCasland age 85, of Gravois Mills, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
She was born January 11, 1928, in Gravois Mills, the youngest child of Willis and Mary Jane McGinnis Sidebottom. She married Elmer Branch, who preceded her in death in 1949. On September 11, 1951, in Versailles, she married Roy "Tinker" McCasland, who preceded her in death May 19, 2013.
She was a homemaker, busy raising her four children. She also worked at Tweedies' Manufacturing, Head Orchard and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, all located in the Versailles area.
Wilda loved music and was an accomplished vocalist, singing Gospel music throughout the state for many years.
She and Tinker always had a huge garden and enjoyed sharing their bounty with family and friends. However, her greatest enjoyment came from being with her family and worshiping her Lord with her daily Bible study.
Survivors include four children, Melvin Branch and wife Linda of Kansas City; Speed Branch and wife Brenda, Larry McCasland and Lola Hayes and husband Robert all of Gravois Mills; six grandchildren, Danny Hayes, Speed Branch, Jr., Shanell Branch, Chad Hardey, Amber Yeager and Laura Marriott, numerous great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wilda was also preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings, Grace Sidebottom, Milburn Sidebottom, Della Turpin, Otis Sidebottom, Melvin Sidebottom, Dessie Inman and Coy Sidebottom.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m Thursday, September 12, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Bro. Danny Owsley officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Park Addition of the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Thursday.
