Warren Lee Jones

Warren Lee Jones, age 87, of North Kansas City, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015, at Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence, Missouri.
He was born February 10, 1928, in Glensted, Missouri a son of William "Ora" and Lois "Glee" Stone Jones. On January 11, 1959, at the Versailles First Christian Church, in Versailles, Missouri, Warren was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Rowe, who preceded him in death April 12, 2012.
Warren was a 1946 graduate of Versailles High School. He was an Army veteran, serving his country in the Korean War, receiving his honorable discharge September 26, 1956.
Warren and Shirley moved to Kansas City, where he went to work for General Motors B.O. P. plant, retiring after 30 years of employment.
Following his retirement, he continued to work for many years as a residential and commercial painter. He also owned and rehabbed several rental properties in the Kansas City area until his health began to fail him.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Mary Jones of Independence; a niece, Glenna Osborn of Lee's Summit; a nephew, Gary Jones and wife Joy of St. Petersburg, Florida; a great niece, Erica Osborn of Lee's Summit; along with other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond Glen Jones and a sister, Edna Louise Jones.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, 210 E. Jasper Street, Versailles, MO 65084, with the family receiving friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 28, at Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Missouri.
