Wanda Farris

February 3, 1926 — March 24, 2013

Wanda Farris, age 87, of the Enon community near Russellville, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City, Mo. Wanda was born in Enon, Mo., February 3, 1926, the daughter of Claud and Mary Shikles Williams. On December 21, 1946, Wanda married the Love of her life, Virgle Farris at the home of Rev N.E. Williams in Eldon. Four children were born to this union. Wanda graduated from beauty college in the 1960's and worked out of her home as a beautician for friends and family. Wanda was active in the Fee Fee Baptist Church in St. Louis, serving as Sunday School teacher for 4 and 5 year olds.
After Virgle and Wanda's retirement in May 1978, they moved to Enon community in 1980 and lived on the farm that had once belonged to Wanda's Grandparents, Enoch and Annie Shikles. She was active in Enon Baptist Church as Sunday School teacher for 4 and 5 year olds. She loved the Enon Baptist Church where she was saved. The Lord, Church and Family were her love. Wanda and Virgle enjoyed retirement for 34 years. Wanda was a loving and devoted wife and mother and was proud of her 4 children. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Jeanna Farris, St. Louis; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Gary West, Russellville; Judy and Joe Lee, Melbourne, Florida and Karen and Jim O'Farrell, Wentzville; a brother-in-law, Vernon Farris of Russellville; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Dianna Farris, Amanda Dunbar, Jennifer and Scott Call, Scott and Shanna West, Julie West, Marlisa and Tony Marlow, Jimmy Lee and Jessica Lee, ten great grandchildren, Jacob and Molly Farris, Sierra and Silas Call, Kaylee, Matthew and Lillian West, Rodney Lee and Alisa and Brielle Marlow, Drew and Blake Call, one great-great granddaughter, Kendall Call, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgle, her parents, one sister Rosalie Williams and a granddaughter, Susanne Marie Farris. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28, at the Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Digby officiating. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Enon Baptist Church.
