Virginia R. Nolting, age 90, of Stover passed away at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters.
It was the 16th day of December in 1932 when Herschel and Etta Beard Yows welcomed their daughter, Virginia, into their home in Barnett.
On June 29, 1956, Virginia was united in marriage to Melvin Nolting in Stover, who preceded her in death on October 12, 1987.
Virginia worked as a cook for Morgan Co R-1 Stover.
Never one to sit still, she was very involved with Melvin Nolting's campaign for Morgan County Assessor who held the office for 25 years . She also loved spending time in her flower garden and cross stitch. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Stover.
Left to carry on her legacy is her son and daughter-in-law, Gail and Mary Nolting of St. Peters; two siblings, Marietta Griswold of Arnold and Bob Yows of Osage Beach; two grandchildren, Ashely Gehrin and husband Bryan and Amber Nolting and Marcus Grogan; four great grandchildren, Landyn Nolting and Braden, Penelope, and Oakley Gehrin; along with other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Rebecca Sue Nolting on December 15, 1972; four siblings, Charlotte Davenport, Asa Yows, Gail Yows, and Don Yows.
A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Tuura officiating. Burial will be in the Stover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home.
