Virginia Ruth Roll Harris, age 76, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at The Groves Nursing Home in Independence, MO.
She was born July 27, 1941, in Bernalillo New Mexico, a daughter of Peter Ira Roll and Bonnie Hands-Roll.
Virginia lived in Versailles for many years before moving to the Kansas City, MO area. While living in Versailles her first job was working for Bud Walton at the Dime Store. She then worked at the local factories and later worked at Pioneer Restaurant, Bill's Dollar Store, and Top's Café. She and her husband Robert Newsam also lived and took care of the YMCA Camp for a few years.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Patricia Ann Newsam-Dick and son-in-law Randy D Dick, sister Ruby Rae Roll-Trelour and brother-in-law Mike Trelour, five grandchildren and spouses, Aaron W Hasty and Jessica Hasty, Christopher L Hasty and Meagan Howe, Valerie L Hasty and Jamison Moulder, Shawn M Snyder, and Bradley R Snyder. There are also four Great Grand Children-Autumn Hasty, Lila Hasty, Cole Hasty, and Olivia Hasty.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the service at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 5th, 2018 at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Randy Dick officiating. Interment will be in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.
