Truman G. Tomblinson

Truman G. Tomblinson, age 69, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at North Kansas City Hospital.
He was born August 6, 1945, in Versailles, a son of Joseph and Gertrude Parks Tomblinson. On November 6, 1976, in Versailles, Truman was united in marriage to Barbara Decker who survives at their home.
Truman attended Versailles High School. He was an Army veteran serving his country in the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant-Specialist 6, before receiving his honorable discharge in November of 1973.
Truman worked at Ft. Leavenworth Army Post in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas as a civilian, retiring after more than 20 years of employment.
Truman was a faithful member of the Bread of Life Christian Fellowship in Riverside.
He was outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing and seeing the country Barbara in their travel trailer. He also liked going to the casinos, but most of all Truman enjoyed the time he could spend with his family.
In addition to his wife of 38 years, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Carla Tucker and three grandsons, Grant, Jacob and Toby Tucker all of Smithville; four brothers, Joseph Tomblinson, Raymond Tomblinson and Ralph Tomblinson all of Versailles and Bobby Gene Tomblinson of Denim Springs, Louisiana; four sisters, Mary Dowell, Ann Weicken and Evelyn Blackburn all of Versailles and Peggy Nowack of Eldon; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Truman was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Carl Eugen, William, and Richard Tomblinson.
Memorial graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, in the Versailles Cemetery with Rev. Gary Protenic officiating. Inurnment, with military funeral honors, will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Bread of Life Christian Fellowship, 4711 NW Gateway Ave., Riverside, MO 64150.
