Thomas James Riley, age 71, of Lohman and Jefferson City, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, in Jefferson City, following a battle with cancer. He was born July 20, 1942, in Jefferson City, a son of James Thomas and Marie Payne Riley. On October 18, 1974, Tom was united in marriage to Darla White, who survives at their home. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia. Tom served his country in the Army National Guard for several years. He is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James T. and Jennifer Riley of St. Charles; two grandchildren, Thomas and Benjamin Riley; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Marla Riley and John and Connie Riley all of Jefferson City and four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Anne and Tom Buckley of Tebbets; Pat and Donald Prenger of Jefferson City; Lisa Riley of Clayton and Sarah and Rick Davis of Mt. Vernon. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. We want to give special thanks to his extended family, who supported him in AA. Tom was a man of many talents and interests. The world was a place of constant learning. No one was a stranger, only friends he had not yet met. Pax Vobiscum.
