Thomas Dean Duncan

Thomas Dean "Tom" Duncan, age 79, of Latham, died Sunday, October 9, 2011, at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born March 11, 1932, in Grove Springs, Missouri, a son of Harbe and Ida Mae Holliman Duncan. On April 7, 1953, in Independence, Tom was united in marriage to Vivian Margaret Snow.
In 1975, Tom retired from Butler Manufacturing in Kansas City, after more than 20 years of employment.
Following his retirement, Tom and Margaret decided to leave Independence, and in 1977 they purchased their dream farm near Latham, where he could enjoy raising cattle and being outdoors.
Before his health began to fail him, he enjoyed hunting and restoring antique furniture. He also enjoyed the time he could spending working alongside his sons and they restored old cars.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Duncan of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Rita Duncan and David and Linda Duncan all of Latham; one brother, C.L. "Jim" Duncan of Oak Grove, along with other relatives and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Wayne Duncan and Darrell Duncan.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 13, at the Latham Cemetery in Latham with Rev. Larry Marriott officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. Thursday, October 13, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Latham Cemetery.
