Spencer D. Richey

Spencer Douglas (Bub) Richey, age 52, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at his home.
He was born January 30, 1964, in Sedalia, the oldest child of William “Bill” and Priscilla Schroder Richey.
Spencer grew up in the Tipton community.
He worked alongside his dad at the Tipton Iron Works, until his dad’s death.
He loved the outdoors, where he could hunt, fish, and enjoy the solitude he found in nature.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Casey and Landon Garber of Wardsville and Brooklyn and Casey Wasser of California; his mother, Priscilla Richey of High Point; his sister, Katie Richey of High Point, four grandchildren, Cadon and Rowan Garber and Boden and Calyn Wasser, two nephews, Chandler Wolf and Cameron Schnieders, a great niece, Harper, along with other relatives and friends.
Spencer was preceded in death by his father, Bill Richey.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8 , at the High Point Baptist Church in High Point with Bro. Glen Golden officiating.  Interment will be in the Smithton Cemetery in Smithton immediately following the funeral service on Tuesday.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 7 , at the High Point Baptist Church in High Point.

From Highway 50 at Smithton, take the Highway 50 Spur (heading south) through the west edge of Smithton. Highway 50 Spur becomes Rattlesnake Hill Road. Cemetery is south of town on Rattlesnake Hill Road.
