Shirley Margaret Johnson, 70, of Pilot Grove, Missouri passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at her residence with her family at her side. She was one of 5 children born to Anton and Mildred Kraus in Boonville, Missouri.

She was a lifelong resident of Pilot Grove and retired after 40 years of service at State Farm Insurance Company in Columbia. She married George Johnson on April 28, 1978 and they celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary this spring.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove and served in the Altar Society. She belonged to the Red Hat Society and the Nimble Thimble Quilters Club in Pilot Grove.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Hunter Johnson; and brother David Kraus.

She is survived by her husband George Johnson of the home; sons Randy Johnson and his wife Lashauna of Tipton and Gregory Johnson and his wife Jessica of Boonville; grandchildren Alonza, George, Elizabeth, Gavin, Dalton, Addison and Ava Johnson; brother Virgil Kraus and his wife Judy of Boonville; sisters Janet Lutz and her husband Mitchell of Tipton and Mary Lou Grose and her husband Jim of Sedalia; nieces, nephews, aunts and an uncle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, September 29, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove with burial following in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30-7 PM Wednesday at the church with Rosary beginning at 5 PM.
