Shirley Burnett

 Shirley Burnett, age 73, of Gravois Mills, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, at her home with her family.

 She came into this world as an early Christmas present for her parents, Walter and Margaret (Hayes) Hursman, on December 24, 1950.

 She was united in marriage to James Burnett, who preceded her in death.

 Shirley enjoyed taking care of people and turned this passion into a career at Sweet Springs Villa. She worked in whatever department needed her.

 Being outdoors was an enjoyment for Shirley. She liked to work in her flower beds, feed humming birds and watch them fly around, and feed the deer that came up by her house. Later in life she also liked to do puzzles and spend her time drinking her coffee and playing her computer games. She loved spending time with her family.

 Left to carry on Shirley’s legacy are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Russell Burnett and Lisa and Mike Kelly; ten grandchildren, Kayla Moore, Steven Burnett, Russell Burnett, Jr., Cheyenne Hunter, Leslie Burnett, Cody Burnett, Austin Ray Burnett, Caden Mikey Burnett, Wade Nevels, and Jordynn Nevels; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Garrison; two brothers, Harold Hursman and wife Mary and Jerry Hursman; along with nieces, nephews, and friends.

 In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Rosie Garrison and Zelma Hursman; and four brothers, Dale Hursman, Alvin Hursman, Bluford Hursman, and Eddie Hursman.

 In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated.
