Sharon Mae Meller

May 19, 1941 — March 31, 2011

Sharon Mae Meller, age 69, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 19, 1941, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Forrest Irelin and Iva Mae Phelps Russell. Her mother survives in Jefferson City.
On November 30, 1968, in Jefferson City, Sharon was united in marriage to Gerald "Jerry" Meller, who survives at their home.
She was a graduate of New Bloomfield High School.
Sharon prided herself on being a homemaker, busy raising her four children, being a devoted wife and providing a loving home for her family. Over the years she also worked at various businesses in and around Jefferson City and part-time for the Missouri Department of Revenue.
She was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church in St. Martins.
Sharon liked going to warm and sunny places, where she could be on the beach. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, crocheting, collecting angel figurines and most of all spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rusty and Cheryl Custard of Columbia; Scott and Jean Custard of New Bloomfield and Shannon Meller of Jefferson City; one daughter LaVonda Meller and Shawn Hollenberg of Jefferson City; one sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Don Taylor of Mokane; six grandchildren Trenton Custard and Brooke Corbin, Shane Custard, Skyeler Custard, Mailei Custard, Grace Hollenberg and Kendalyn Hollenberg, one great granddaughter, Zoie Irelin Custard (her second great granddaughter is due in June), along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father and brother, Dwain Russell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 noon, Tuesday, April 5, at St. Martins Catholic Church in St. Martins with Father Brendan Doyle as Celebrant and Father Ed Smith as co-Celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Martins Cemetery West Addition.
A Prayer Service will begin at 4:00 P.M. Monday, March 4, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Visitation will immediately follow the Prayer Service until 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Martins Catholic Church, St. Martins Bldg. Fund or Missouri River Hospice.
