Samuel Linn Hudson, Sr., age 71, of Cole Camp, formerly of Stover, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015, at his home.
He was born May 13, 1944, in Jefferson City, a son of O.T. and Dorothy Linn Hudson. On December 24, 1988, at the First Baptist Church in Stover, Sam was united in marriage to Linda Thompson Schlesselman, who survives at their home.

Following his retirement Sam moved back to Stover, where he and Linda enjoyed being on their farm. He liked the slower pace, and stayed active hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR, attending auctions and car shows, where he could show off all his Volkswagens. On ball game nights you could find Sam and Linda supporting the Stover Bulldog basketball and volleyball teams. He and Linda also looked forward to playing pitch with good friends George and Elaine Rex. Sam and Linda recently moved to Cole Camp to be closer to her son's' family.
He was member of the Galloway-Martens American Legion Post 343 in Stover, participating in the Funeral Honor Guard as long as his health allowed.
