Ruth A. Grimm

September 30, 1933 — August 11, 2015

Ruth Grimm, "Smitty" age 81, passed away Tuesday, August 11th at the Golden Living Center in Jefferson City with family by her side.
One of five children, Ruth was born September 30, 1933 to D. Lytle "Bud" and Lillian Schriefer in Indianapolis, Indiana. At the age of 12, she and her family moved west to L.A. County in California.
Ruth attended High School in Covina California and after graduation, started working at the hospital there, eventually becoming the evening supervisor. Ruth and a co-worker made the decision to strike out on their own venture and opened a Janitorial Service in 1972. They ran their business together until the death of her partner in 1997. Ruth continued on with the business for a couple of years until she retired.
As Ruth's health declined, she moved to Tipton, Missouri area where family could help with her care.
Ruth's son, Barton Grimm and his wife, Mary Jane live in the San Francisco Bay area. They have two children and one grandchild.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Sam Schriefer.
Ruth is survived by her son Barton and his wife Mary Jane of El Cerrito, California; grandson Dylan Grimm and granddaughter Samatha Mitchell Grimm; great- grandson Leo Grimm; sisters Donna Draffen and her husband William Draffen of Latham, Missouri and Polly Dunia of El Monte, California; brother Rex Schreifer and his wife Sharon of LaVerne, California; several nieces and nephews and a loving group of extended family members.

A private graveside Memorial Service was held for Ruth Grimm at the Masonic Cemetery in Tipton, Missouri Friday, August 14, 2015.
