Rudolph H. Woehrer, age 94, of Russellville, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born April 17, 1919, on the family farm near Lohman, the youngest son of John and Theresa Horak Woehrer. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman.
On January 3, 1948, at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown parsonage, Rudy was united in marriage to Oleda Leona Elizabeth Theroff, who preceded him in death September 16, 2007.
He co-owned and operated the Lohman Milling Company in Lohman and Centertown for a number of years. He was also a lifelong farmer.
He joined St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown shortly after his marriage to Oleda.
He enjoyed playing cards, farming, visiting friends and relatives.
Survivors include nephews and nieces and their spouses, Howard and Carol Woehrer, Centertown; Colin and Ruth Ann Woehrer, Lohman, Wilfred and Kathy Hegg, Palatine, Illinois; Gertrude Vieth, Fenton; Shirley and Don Hetherington, Kirkwood; Kathy and Glen Shoemaker, California and Judy and Larry Baysinger, Russellville; special family members, Lila and Robert Sullens, Faye and Mary Leishing, Ruby Kautsch, the William and Cindy Kautsch family, Dwayne Kautsch, Janice and Steve Coffelt, the Martin and Stacy Kautsch family, the Larry and Sandy Theroff family, and the Darlene Schubert family, along with great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and their wives, Henry and Lorene Woehrer and Theodore and Viola Woehrer, his twin sister and her husband, Ruth and Adolph Hegg and one nephew, Elmer Woehrer.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown with Pastor Warren Brandt officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery-Stringtown. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service on Monday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. John's Lutheran Church or Cemetery at Stringtown.
