Roy W. Wiesenborn, 85, of the Golden Beach Community south of Versailles, died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 7, 1927, in Belleville, Illinois a son of Roy W. Sr., and Opportuna Laubner Wiesenborn. Roy graduated from Cathedral High School and Belleville Junior College in Belleville, Illinois. He retired as an Engineering Specialist from Ethyl Corporation in St. Louis, Mo. Upon his retirement he moved from Hazelwood, Missouri to the Lake of the Ozarks with his wife Colleen. He was the founder and president of the Golden Beach Crime Watch and an active member of the Golden Beach Community Center. There he had many loving friends in his "Golden Beach Family" and looked forward to their get-togethers and functions. He enjoyed attending gun shows, was an avid Civil War buff, and collected various items of memorabilia, especially books. He also enjoyed the time he spent with his family, sharing the family ancestry and telling stories. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Colleen Milberg Wiesenborn, his first wife, Irma Steinke Wiesenborn, his former wife Shirley Bossong, his parents, Roy W. Sr. and Opportuna Wiesenborn, his sister, Joy Bernier, his stepdaughter Cynthia Diamond, and his loving and faithful canine companion, Tippy. Roy is survived by his step-daughter Monica (Larry) Koudelka, step-sons Daniel (Kecia) Milberg, Robert (Julie) Milberg, and Burton (Debbie) Milberg. Also surviving are his nieces Kathie (William) Martin and Marjie (Dennis) Besse, his nephews Phillip (Natashia) Potter and William (Debbie) Potter, 2 great nieces, 4 great nephews, and 3 great-great nieces. At Roy's request he was cremated. A Celebration of Roy's Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012, at the Golden Beach Community Church. Inurnment will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Belleville, Illinois.
