Anna Rose McCarty, peacefully left this earth on Monday, August 23, 2010. She was known as "Rose" to her family and "Anne" to her co-workers at Sears-Roebuck and Wagner Ind.
She was born April 25, 1937, near Russellville, a daughter of John Martin and Elizabeth Kubli McCarty.
Rose was a 1955 graduate of Russellville High School.
Following graduation, Rose moved to Kansas City. She spent years working at Sears in the payroll department until her departure in the early 1990's. She worked for Wagner Ind. in the personnel department until her retirement.
Rose shared a house and catering business with friend Lee Sturgill, and enjoyed entertaining and catering events for close friends and family in the Kansas City area.
She also enjoyed antiquing and spending time with her adopted Border Collie, "Jumpy."
She is survived by her longtime companion, Lee Sturgill of the home; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Vivian McCarty of Russellville and Jerry and Lola McCarty of California; also sisters-in-law, Mary McCarty of Russellville and Lenora McCarty of Marshall; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Elizabeth McCarty, two brothers, Clifford McCarty and Harold McCarty and one sister, Katherine Rohr.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Friday, August 27, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville with Rev. Dale Larison officiating. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home on Friday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
