Ronald Jackson Marriott, age 67, of Stover, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, June 28, 2014, at his home. He was born February 21, 1947, in Versailles, a son of Herschel and Neva Raines Marriott. On September 25, 2010, in Blue Springs, Ron was united in marriage to Evelyn Register Pittman. He was a 1964 graduate of Versailles High School. Ron served his country in the United States Army. For several years Ron, and his former wife Jackie, managed Troutdale Ranch in Gravois Mills. He later worked at Gates Inc., Wallace Pencil Factory and the Morgan County R-II school district all in Versailles. He retired from the Sedalia 200 Public School district, in Sedalia, Missouri. Ron enjoyed spending time outdoors, where as a young man he enjoyed hunting. However, his greatest enjoyment came from being on the water with a fishing pole in his hand. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Marriott of Blue Springs; two daughters, Angela McFarland and husband Dennis of Pleasant Hill and Nicole Kinder of Independence; one brother, Warren Dale Marriott and wife Edna of Harrisonville; three sisters, Shirley Ferguson and husband Jim of Stover; Georgia Sinclair and Teena Simpson and husband John all of Versailles; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robert Dale Marriott and three brothers, Glen, Dennis and Kenneth Marriott. Graveside services, with military funeral honors, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ronald J. Marriott Memorial Fund.
