Roger Gilreath

Roger Gilreath, age 66, of High Point, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born May 16, 1947, in Danville, Kentucky, a son of Hubert and Clora Routin Gilreath. He was united in marriage to Donna Crowley Matthews on October 19, 1996, and she survives at their home.
Roger was an over-the-road truck driver out of the St. Louis area for many years. After retiring from the trucking industry, he worked as a mechanic, until he retired permanently so he could enjoy being on his hobby farm.
Roger loved being outdoors, where he could fish, hunt, and most recently spend time with his wife on their farm.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, James Gilreath of St. Louis; Amanda Stogsdill and husband Kevin of St. Peters; Annette Matthews of San Leandro, California and Darren Matthews and wife Tanna of Alpharetta, Georgia; one brother, Paul Gilreath of Ohio; one sister, Patty McFann and husband Dick of North Carolina; one stepbrother, Jerry Burnett and wife Ellen of Ohio; six grandchildren, Kelsey, Caleb, Dylan, Emily, Cole and Grace, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sharon Cayce Syrell.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated.
