Robert Paul Stafford, 67, Nixa, MO, went to his heavenly home Monday, December 2, 2013, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO., after suffering a massive heart attack. Robert (Bob) was born August 27, 1946, in Versailles, MO, to Paul and Faye Stafford. On July 16, 1967 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Fay Fajen Stafford who survives him at their home. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Kamala Rae, on July 19, 1971. Kamala died July 29, 1984, at the tender age of 13. Bob served in the US Navy as a radar technician tracking missiles over Cuba. He was Postmaster at Versailles, MO, and Clarkdale, AZ. He retired from the Postal Service in May, 2010, and moved from Sedona, AZ to Nixa, MO. Bob truly loved both Sedona and the Springfield/Nixa area. He was a faithful member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Nixa, MO. He recently served as Vice-President of his local subdivision board. Bob was known to his many friends as a person who cared deeply for others and would always lend a helping hand.

Robert will be sorely missed by all. A grave side service and burial, with military funeral honors, will be held December 6, 2013, at 2:00 pm in Stover, MO, in the St. Paul's Cemetery. Bob will be interred by his beloved daughter, Kamala Rae.
A memorial service celebrating Bob's life and Christian faith will be held at the Redeemer Lutheran Church at 911 W. Mount Vernon Street, Nixa, MO, on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 2 pm with Pastor Adam Parvey officiating. A special message will also be given by Dr. Brandon Schmidly. Cassie Forman will sing Bob's favorite hymns and selections will be played by the Praise Band. Bob will be remembered by all as a kind gentle man who put others before himself. Bob and his wife recently took a bus tour of the New England states, Niagara Falls, and New York. It was a long awaited trip which they both thoroughly enjoyed. Bob and Marilyn found pleasures in simple things as movies, plays, shows in Branson, eating out, and television. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was the inspiration and hub of his life. Bob and Marilyn were best friends and partners. He will be in Marilyn's heart always.
