Robert Lee Coons

Robert Lee Coons, age 70 of Latham, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehab Center in Jefferson City.
He was born August 26, 1944, in Latham, a son of William Thomas and Jessie Ellen McCasland Coons.
On February 4, 1964, Robert was united in marriage to Judith Ann Lavellee, who survives at their home.
Robert worked for many years in construction, as a stone mason and in auto mechanics.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting squirrels with his dogs Sissy and Sassy, as well as tending to his fruit trees and garden.
He is also survived by one daughter, Tammy Lynn Coons of Latham, one grandson, Anthony "Tony" Coons and wife Laura of Versailles; two great grandsons, Evan and William Coons; one brother, Gene Coons of Iola, Kansas; four sisters, Eva Brown of Versailles; Charlene Witt of Jefferson City; Rosemary Hibbard of Olathe, Kansas and Thelma Coons of Versailles; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, twin sons, Larry Lynn and Jerry Lee Coons, five brothers, Roy "Tinker" McCasland, Donnie Coons, Gary Wayne Coons, William Coons, Jamie Coons and one sister, Darlene Bonecutter.
A Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 7, at the Latham Christian Church in Latham with Rev. Jim Randall officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Latham Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, the National Kidney Fund or the Robert Coons Memorial Fund.
