Robert Paul Burge, 81, of
Blackwater, MO passed away Saturday June 4th at
Katy Manor in Pilot Grove, MO.
Born Jan. 12, 1935 in Boonville,
MO, he was the son of the late Edith and Paul C.
Burge. He was a graduate of Boonville HS,
Kemper Military College & the University of MO Columbia
with a degree in Agriculture.
He also served in the Vietnam War as a Major in the US Army
who flew as a reconnaissance helicopter pilot from 1957-68.
On Dec 31, 1967 he married to the late Sally
(Savickas) Burge. After his service in the
military he went on to become a farmer and then
worked for the Dept. of Corrections for 19 years before
retiring in 2003.
Survivors include a son, Stephen
Schleser of Aurora, CO; two daughters, Andrea Schleser of
Arvada, CO and Rebecca Sower of Windsor, CT; and three
grandchildren, Gage & Aspen Schleser & Joshua
Sower.
No service will be held at this
time but the family will plan a life celebration at a later
date.

A Celebration of Life for Robert P. Burge will be held Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Greenhaven Farm, 23402 Highway 41, Blackwater, MO (approx 6 miles north on 41 from Lamine/Railroad crossing). Come join us for some of Dad's favorite foods, drinks & to tell some stories. Of course we will toast in his honor too!!
