Ricky Dean Vansell, age 64, of Stover, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, surrounded by his family.
It was on the 12th day of December in 1960, when Raymond and Bonnie (Luvin) Vansell welcomed their son, Ricky Dean, into their home in Kansas City, Missouri.
Ricky was a hardworking and dedicated individual who took pride in his work. He began his career laying carpet alongside his father and later expanded his skills into bridge construction, contributing to projects across Missouri. His strong work ethic extended beyond his job, as he was also a skilled carpenter and always available to lend a helping hand to family and friends in need.
On July 2, 1988, Rick married Lisa Webb, the love of his life, and together they built a family filled with love and cherished memories. For over 40 years Rick cherished Lisa with love and unwavering dedication that inspired all around them. They never hesitated to open their home sharing that love with anyone in need.
In addition to his wife, Lisa, Rick's legacy lives on through his children: daughters Ashley (Larry) Dravenstott of Tipton, Jessica (James) Fisher of Stover, and Samantha (Allen) Brumm of Lamoni, IA; and son Jonah (Kaylen) Whittle of Stover. He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren: Malaki, Addilyn, Amelia, Emmett, Lilly, Sadie, Chloe, Brynleigh, Octavia, Ellis, and Evan.
Rick found joy in the great outdoors and was an exceptional fisherman who also enjoyed camping and hunting. He was a proud Kansas City Chiefs fan and also enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting events. He loved spending time with family and friends and had a passion for loud music that brought energy to every gathering.
He is survived by his siblings Gina (Kent) Engelbrecht of Stover, Aaron (Crystal) Vansell of Versailles, and Michelle Vansell of Chillicothe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Rodney Luvin.
Rick's memory will forever be treasured by those who knew him. May his legacy of hard work, love for family, and zest for life bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
