Richard Thomas Alexander, 90, of Pilot Grove, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
He was born January 12, 1931, in Ink, AR, one of three children of Paxton Clay Alexander and Gladys W. (Wood) Alexander.
Richard was a 1954 graduate of Cumberland County High School in Toledo, IL. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed attending church services at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove where he was lovingly cared for the past 24 years. He loved football and was good at statistics. He followed the newspaper and kept close track of the scores of all the games each week. He was a diehard John Wayne fan and also liked Elvis. Richard had a great sense of humor and will be remembered as a kind, gentle and loving person.
Surviving are a brother, Robert Alan Alexander (Marie), of Graham, TX; a sister, Patricia “Pat” Alexander Sweeney (Rodney), of Pilot Grove; and nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021, at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery in Toledo, IL.
There will be no formal visitation, however friends may pay their respects and sign the guest book between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021, at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove.
Memorials are suggested to the Katy Manor activity fund.
