Rev. B. Maxine Willis Dick, age 79, of Barnett, died Friday, July 22, 2011, at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
She was born August 17, 1931, in Barnett, a daughter of John F. and Roxie Hayes Willis. On April 2, 1972, Maxine was united in marriage to Herbert Lewis Dick, who preceded her in death December 23, 2010.
Maxine was an Evangelist with the Assemblies of God Church for more than 40 years and was also known for her Children's Ministry.
She owned and operated Willis Publication, a Christian Music publishing company which operated out of Farmington.
Maxine and Herb resided in Farmington for most of their married life, where they were Foster parents for almost 15 years.
When Maxine's health began to fail they returned to the Versailles area to be near her family.
Survivors include two brothers, Wayne Willis and wife Tina of Versailles and Bobby Willis and wife Nadine of St. Louis; three sisters, Celia Jordan of Long Beach, California; Violet Simmons and husband Wayne of Hughesville and Beth Jenkins and husband Bob of Russellville; also numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, James Sr., Wesley, John, Richard, Edward, Ralph and Albert Willis and three sisters, Louise Willis, Ruth Willis and Mary Lehman.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 1, at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Barnett. Interment will be in the Big Rock Cemetery west of Barnett.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church on Monday, August 1.
