Remus H Bax

Remus H. Bax, 85, of Tipton passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Tipton Oak Manor. He was one of four children born in Freeburg, Missouri to Dr. August H. and Christine Bax.

He moved to the Fortuna/Tipton area in 1958 to be near family and make his home. It was here that he received the majority of his formal education from Galveston Shipley. He enjoyed woodworking and leathercraft as he was good working with his hands. He also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, laughing, visiting and observing people. His faith and especially the rosary were an important part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Marvin A. Bax; sister Doris Bax and sister Viola Luebbert.

Remus is survived by brother-in-law Dr. C.F. Luebbert of Tipton; nephews Dale Gradel of Rock Island, Illinois and Dr. Russell Luebbert and his wife Dr. Marilyn of Arizona/Minnesota; niece Katherine Bax of Imperial, California and Lynn Brauer and her husband Steven of Tipton; a great-niece Heather Martin and husband Ralph of Tipton; and Teresa Galli and Husband Michael of St. Charles; several great-nieces; great-nephews and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at St. Andrew Church in Tipton with burial to follow at 2 PM in the Holy Family Cemetery in Freeburg. Visitation will be held from 9-10 AM prior to the funeral service.

Memorials are suggested to the religious charity of the donor's choice.
