Reba Jo Emeterio, age 58, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at her home with her sisters by her side.
She was born April 8, 1961, in Bonne Terre, a daughter of Jake Charlie and Wilmer Anita Hightower Wougamon. On April 7, 1979, in Victoria, Reba was united in marriage to Gregory Stephen Emeterio, who preceded her in death June 2, 2014.
Reba had been employed by parent company Southern Foodservice Management, Inc. for Lucent Technology, Bell Labs Innovations in Oklahoma City. Her former boss had this to say about her …”Reba Emeterio has been a good and faithful employee in the position of Bookkeeper/Office Manager for Lucent Technology cafeterias for 17 years. It is to my great regret that our relationship is now ending. Reba has chosen to end her employment here and move on to other life goals and responsibilities. She will be truly missed. When I became Director here two years ago, I already knew of Reba. Her reputation for excellence, honesty, and integrity had preceded her. The workload of this particular office job is rather unique in our industry. Besides being the largest employer of labor in our state, Lucent’s global presents [sic] requires a vast amount of special services. In effect, Reba had total office responsibility for three contracts, tremendous amounts of catering billing, and twenty six cash drawers per day. Her great organizational skills allowed her to execute her job duties to perfection. I truly enjoyed working with Reba, and I will miss her excellent abilities and enthusiasm greatly.” Harold Heasley
In the early 2000’s Reba and Greg moved to the Versailles area where they built their dream home.
In 2016, Reba graduated from Lincoln University in Jefferson City. During this time Reba was employed with Gates Corporation in Versailles, working until her health recently failed her.
She was a member of the Eldon Congregation of Yahweh.
She was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed watching her son race sprint cars and looked forward to spending time with her grandkids. She enjoyed quiet nights at home where she could knit and enjoy the beauty of the woods around her.
