Ray E. Baur, age 79, of Russellville, passed away Friday night, March 6, 2015, at the Harry S Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
He was born May 14, 1935, in Hermann, a son of Frank and Ella Cramer Baur.
Ray was a graduate of Hermann High School and served his county in the United States Air Force, stationed in Okinawa.
He retired as a field engineer with the Motorola Corporation in Jefferson City.
He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal order of the Eagles Aerie 2693 in Jefferson City and a former member of Aerie 1328 in Hermann. He was also a member of Roscoe Enloe American Legion Post 5 in Jefferson City.
Ray enjoyed hunting, cooking for family and friends and was an accomplished wine maker. He enjoyed baseball and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan, and he could also be found watching the Russellville Indians baseball team. However, his greatest enjoyment came from being with his family and spoiling his beloved "grand puppies" Duke and Duchess.
Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Ann Baur of St. Charles; four sibling and their spouses, Edward and Leona Baur, Gene and Brenda Baur, Betty and Charlie Brunner and Nadine and Gene Ulrich all of Hermann, his extended family, Mike Harrison and sons, Clayton and Caleb; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and longtime companion, Judy Harrison.
Ray will be cremated, with inurnment in the Enloe Cemetery. As per his wishes, no services are planned.
