Ralph C. Baker, age 80, of McEwen, TN., passed away Tuesday evening, January 10, 2017, at his home in Stover, MO with family by his side.
He was born February 27, 1936, in McEwen, Tennessee, a son of William John “”Dub” and Mildred Marie Wallace Baker. On December 18, 1976, Ralph was united in marriage to Shirley M. Eades , in Waverly, Tennessee and she resides at their home in Stover, MO.
Ralph served his country in the United States Navy.
Ralph owned and operated Baker’s Water Line Service for many years. He also served as a Deputy Sheriff and provided security for Loretta Lynn during events she hosted.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Belton, Mo. and later Waverly, Tenn. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting. Ralph and Shirley moved to Stover a few years ago to be near family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, twin daughters, Shelly Rena Carver and husband Russell of Freeman, Mo and Kelly Faye Harrelson and husband Jim of Clinton, Mo., Rick Wade Baker of Stover and Brenda Lee Albright of Olathe, Kansas; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Kay Baker of Blue Springs, Mo.; five siblings, Clarence Oneal Baker of Pennsylvania; Billy D. Baker of Waverly, Tennessee; Jake Baker of Long Beach, California; Norma Jean Plunkett of Waverly, Tennessee; and Steve Baker of Pennsylvania; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, three children, Jerry Dale Baker, Marian Lynn Simmons and an infant son, Billy Ranual Baker.
In keeping with his wishes, he has been cremated.
Burial will be at a later date in Tennessee.
