Pauletta Steelman

Pauletta Carol Steelman, 88, of Tipton passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Heisinger Bluffs Senior Living Community in Jefferson City, MO.

She was born on November 2, 1936 in San Diego, CA, a daughter of Paul and Gladys (Hubbard) Shock. On August 11, 1951, in Reno, Nevada she married Daniel Clay Steelman who preceded her in death on July 13, 2013.

Pauletta dedicated over 20 years of her life to working with special needs children, finding great joy and fulfillment in helping her students learn and grow. Her patience, kindness, and unwavering commitment left a lasting impact on countless young lives.

Pauletta attended Fortuna Baptist Church where she loved to sing and often sang specials at church. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life-getting lost in a good book, playing solitaire on her computer, and traveling to California to spend cherished moments with her family. Those trips brought her immense happiness, as family was always at the heart of everything she did.

Survivors include three children, Bryan Steelman (Lori Makela), Woodbury, MN, Glenda Lewis, Tipton, MO, and Leanna Mosoryak, Charlevoix, MI; two siblings, Clifford Shock (Nora) of San Luis Obispo, CA, Ruth Shy (Doug) of Cameron Park, CA; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to both of her parents and her husband Pauletta was preceded in death by one brother, Jessie Dean Thompson.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Newkirk Cemetery near Fortuna, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are in the care of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton, MO.
