Patricia Dennice Schisler, age 61, of Versailles passed away Monday, October 9, 2017, at University Hospital in Columbia.
She was born June 26, 1956, in Tipton, Indiana, a daughter of Winifred Cook, and Joe and Betty Bates Bannon. On August 26, 1995, in Syracuse, Missouri, Patricia was united in marriage to Timothy R. Schisler, who survives at their home.
She was a member of the Kispoko Shawnee Tribe; which led her and her husband to establish the Indian Lodge Research Center in Versailles, where others could learn about their own Indian heritage.
Patricia was a long time participant in the Morgan County Relay for Life and a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Versailles.
Patricia was known for her great sense of humor and her ability to make others smile.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy and Jeffrey Gifford, Sierra Vista, Arizona and Shannon and Robert Owens of Jamestown; a grandson, Anthony Gifford of Sierra Vista, Arizona; one sister, Candy Fitch of Kokomo, Indiana; along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Paul Anthony Cook and one sister, Robin Cook.
A Celebration of Patricia’s life will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 13 , at the First Christian Church in Versailles, with Bro. John Wagner officiating.
In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated.
