Pamela Jaco, 70, of Otterville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
She was born May 8, 1954, in Sedalia, the daughter of the late Glenn Gregory and Betty Jo (Mayfield) Cave. On a hot summer day, July 24, 1976, at Pastor Dillon’s house in Smithton, Pam married the love of her life, Brady Dealno Jaco. Guests celebrated the occasion with windmill cookies and punch. Brady preceded her in death on April 15, 2023, after 46 years of devoted marriage.
Pam is survived by her three daughters, Shelbi (Rustin) Saltsgaver and Kyla Jaco, both of Otterville, and Casey (Richard) Vasquez of Sedalia; ten grandchildren: Spencer Saltsgaver, Noah Saltsgaver, Connor Jaco-Townsend, Corbin Jaco-Woodall, Harper Porterfield, Hudson Porterfield, Lucas Dillon, Asher Dillon, Brady Vasquez, and Morgan Vasquez; and one great-grandchild, Greyson Judy; her brothers-in-law, Robert Hardey and Oscar (Brenda) Jaco of Otterville; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Jaco of Otterville and Donna Kay Wilfong of Sedalia; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Pam was preceded in death by her sister, Karen J. Hardey, and four sisters-in-law: the triplets, Nina Marlow, Tina Barrett, Ina Goldey, and Brenda Sims.
Pam was a graduate of Otterville R-VI High School, Class of 1972. With a passion for education, she pursued her bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Central Missouri State University. Pam began her teaching career at Cole Camp R-1, where she worked from 1976 to 1978, before returning to her roots at Otterville R-VI. There, she dedicated 28 years of her life to shaping young minds, retiring in 2006. Her commitment to her students and the joy she brought to the classroom left an indelible mark on the generations she taught.
Pam and Brady were active members of Otterville Presbyterian Church in their early years. She was also a member of the Westminster Group, CTA, MSTA, and Theta Rho Girls Lodge.
Pam enjoyed cooking, canning, and camping, but her greatest joy was her family. Her home was a gathering place, always welcoming, with a pot of coffee brewing. She especially loved the quiet mornings she shared with Brady over coffee, a tradition she treasured throughout their marriage.
The family will have visitation on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 1:00 pm First Baptist Church in Otterville. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm, celebrating Pam’s life.
The family will establish a scholarship fund in Pam’s memory, with checks made payable to Rustin Saltsgaver to support future generations in education.
Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home.
