Norine Edna Kerksiek

Norine Edna Kerksiek, age 72, of Stover, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born October 1, 1938, in Stover, the only daughter of Otto C. and Edna K. Holsten Witte. Norine was baptized October 9, 1938, and confirmed April 6, 1952, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stover. The confirmation verse chosen was Hebrews 13:5, "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, "I will never fail you nor forsake you."
On August 11, 1957, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Norine was united in marriage to Edwin Louis Kerksiek, who preceded her in death February 19, 2002.
She worked for Primo Pants Factory in Versailles for many years.
Norine was a lifelong, member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stover.
She was an accomplished seamstress and quilt maker. She also enjoyed reading and being on the farm.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Kerksiek of Stover; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Charles and Dianna Witte of Elkland and Martha Witte of Stover; four grandchildren, Ashley and Melissa Kerksiek and Terra and Austin Holland, one great grandson, Zachary, also nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Norine was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Brenda Kay Kerksiek and two brothers, Martin and Oliver Witte.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Sunday, June 19, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stover with Pastor Cecil Murdock officiating. Interment will be in the St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Saturday, June 18, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with a prayer service at 5:30 P.M.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Pauls Lutheran Church or the St. Pauls Lutheran School.
