Nila Holcroft

Nila June Holcroft, age 83, of Sedalia, formerly of Versailles, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born June 28, 1931, in Pyrmont, MO a daughter of Herbert and Josephine Monsees Von Holten. On September 3, 1965, in Denver, CO, Nila was united in marriage to Albert W. Holcroft, who preceded her in death November 26, 1992.
Nila graduated from Morgan Co R-1 High School in Stover.
Before getting married she worked at Crown Drug and J A Lamy's. She became a homemaker after she was married taking care of her family. She lived in Santa Maria, CA from 1965 until 1979.
Nila enjoyed all kinds of needle work; especially crocheting and counted cross stich. She also enjoyed circle the word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include one brother, Leon Von Holten and wife Bonnie of Phillipsburg, MO; one nephew, Neil and Sheryl Von Holten of Sedalia; two step daughters, Becky Chandler of Lawrence, KS and Sandy Wood of Belevue, WA; two great nieces, Amy and Mary Von Holten both of Sedalia; three step grandsons; one step granddaughter; and six step great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two nephews, Craig and Gary Von Holten.
A Celebration of Life service will beSunday, June 7, 2015 at 2:30pm, at the Centennial Park, Shelter House 5 in Sedalia, 1400 E 16th St. A private inurnment will be in the Versailles Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
