Michael Patrick Taylor, age 46, of Stover, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
He was born June 22, 1966, in Carson City, Nevada, a son of Gale and Susan Smith Taylor.
Mike served his country in the United State Army during the 1980's.
He was employed as an over-the road truck driver for several years. At the time of his death he owned and operated Longhorn Smokehouse in Stover.
Mike was of the Catholic faith.
Mike grew up in the western United States. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to fish, hunt and work on any project that allowed him to be outside. He enjoyed the rodeo, where bull riding was his specialty. He was also a tremendous cook, especially when it came to barbeque.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Brenda Steffens of Stover; an adopted daughter, Amber Duggan of Stover and many friends.
A Celebration of Mike's life will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with friends received from 6:00 p.m. until service time. Pastor Steve Robinson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Downtown Stover Park Bench Fund in memory of Mike Taylor.
In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated.
