Michael Lee "Mike" Marriott

October 1, 1958 — June 17, 2019

Michael Lee “Mike” Marriott, age 60, of Sedalia, passed away Monday afternoon, June 17, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born October 1, 1958, in Windsor, a son of Mancil Lee and Annetta Hudgens Marriott.  On December 15, 1979, Mike was united in marriage to Donna Green, who survives at their home.

Mike was a 1978 graduate of Stover High School.

He was a route salesman for Pepsi-Cola Company in Sedalia for the past 30 years and truly loved his job and the people he met on his route.

Mike enjoyed good music and loved to go dancing.  Being the daddy of a daughter and having two granddaughters, he took an interest in coaching the local girls’ softball teams.  However, anyone who knew him, knew he was a modern-day cowboy; most at home on the back of a horse, enjoying the time he could spend riding with his family and friends.

Mike was a devoted family man; cherishing evenings at home with his family, playing washers, cooking out and shooting the breeze. The highlight of his day was when he was able to spend time with his grandbabies, Riley and Oaklee.

In addition to his beloved wife of almost 40 years, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Clint Raetz and his two granddaughters, Riley and Oaklee Raetz all of Cole Camp; two moms, Annetta Gilmore of Kansas City and Sue Marriott of Stover; seven siblings, Gayle Brandes and companion Bill Hurt all of Sedalia; Marsha Flores and husband Jorge of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Cindy Beckmann and husband Shannon; Lee Marriott and wife Stacy and Matt Marriott and wife Stephanie all of Stover; Pam Gilmore and Susie Gilmore both of Kansas City; nieces and nephews, Josh Brandes, Isabell Flores, Sebastian Flores, Keith Johnson,  Allison Ehlers, Alan Ehlers, Bailey Marriott, Kelly Humphrey, Morgan McCoin, Trey Marriott, Payden Hibdon, Lawson Hibdon, Conner Hibdon, Asia Marriott, Larkin Marriott, Jacob Carver, Zachary Cansler, Courtney Cansler and Kylie Cansler, uncle, Sonny Marriott, aunt, Janet Alpers, along with several great nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his dad, Mancil Marriott and one sister, Jill Hibdon.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Marriott Family Cemetery on T Highway south of Stover.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Education Fund for Riley and Oaklee Raetz at the Citizens Farmers Bank.
