Mary Maude Meisenheimer, age 88, of Pilot Grove, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at University Hospital in Columbia.
Mary Maude was born October 24, 1934, in Pilot Grove, daughter of Otto and Mary (Scheidt) Bader, who preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, Oscar "Mickey" Meisenheimer on April 22, 1954, in Clear Creek. Mickey preceded her in death on September 26, 2004.
Mary Maude was a 1952 graduate of Pilot Grove High School. As a teenager she worked at the Pilot Grove Cafe. After marriage she was a housewife and stay at home mom. Over the years she worked at Bobben Heel factory, was a receptionist for Meisenheimer Funeral Home, and retired from Josten's factory. Mary Maude lived her whole life in Pilot Grove.
Mary Maude was considered the matriarch of her family. She loved her family and was always concerned for everyone's well-being. Mary Maude loved family gatherings and was thrilled when family or friends would just stop in to visit. She was very active in the community and the church. She was instrumental in starting the Pilot Grove School kindergarten, the Community Building and Swimming Pool. She served on the PTA, was a 4-H leader, coached girl's softball, was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ which later became Pilot Grove Community Church, the Ladies Guild and SOS.
Mary Maude enjoyed family game night, doing word searches, watching "Walker Texas Ranger", reading western novels and quilting. She loved sitting on her front porch and waving at people going by.
Survivors include her four children, Charlotte Spence (Terry) of rural Boonville, Darrell Meisenheimer (Kathy), Mark "Pee Wee" Meisenheimer (Tammy), and Paula Bishop, all of Pilot Grove; two brothers, Robert Bader (Sherry) and Mike Bader (Debby), both of Pilot Grove; three sisters, Carol Porras (Richard) and Janice Aydelott, both of Pilot Grove, and Alice Mayfield of Spavinaw, OK; sister-in-law, Alma Keller of Pilot Grove; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Bader, Jerome Bader, and William "Bill" Bader; and two sisters, Donna Patterson and Elaine Thurman.
Visitation will be Monday, May 29, 2023, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home, Pilot Grove.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Pilot Grove Community Church with Rev. Heath Clark, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery.
