Mary Louise Zortman, 85, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side.
A private memorial service will be at a later date.
Mary was born on May 5, 1931 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Maurine Burkland. She was one of five children.
She resided in Boonville, MO for 23 years. She was a homemaker and later worked at Artex before moving to Eldon, MO in 1992. Before retirement, she worked at the Osage Beach Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God.
She was very generous and enjoyed helping others. She loved to entertain. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and playing board games, especially scrabble.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Howard, Alfred, Donald, and Robert Burkland, and sons, Gary and Harold Heckman.
Along with her husband, Harlin, she is survived by two sons, Allen Heckman of Tuscumbia, MO and Martin Whisler of Boonville, MO and three daughters, LaVon Whisler of Huntsville, AL, Sharlene Kammerich (Dan) of Boonville, MO, and Marlene Haller of Eldon, MO. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
