Mary Catherine Matheis

Mary Catherine Matheis, age 75, of Eldon, formerly of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City. She was born May 31, 1938, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Henry Clyde and Edith Mae Crutsinger Garnett, both deceased. On May 21, 1960, at the Centertown Baptist Church, Catherine was united in marriage to Larry Matheis, and to this union three sons were born. Larry preceded her in death May 31, 1993.
She was a graduate of California High School. She had been employed with JC Penney's, Household Finance and retired from California Manufacturing, when her health failed her. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in California, but had been a member of the Centertown Baptist Church and the Russellville Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Duane Matheis of Rocky Mount; Danny Matheis of Lincoln, Nebraska and Daryl Matheis of Russellville; one sister, Lois Dean Garnett of Centertown; five granddaughters, Chasity, Brittany, Candace, Ashley and Briann, five great grandchildren, Jordan, Trevor, Desh, Case and Abby, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville with Rev. Charlie Kempf officiating. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery, west of Russellville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Centertown Cemetery.
