Mary Joann Malotte

November 2, 1946 — October 31, 2023

Stover

Mary "Joann" Malotte beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully at age 76 with her family by her side on October 31, 2023 at 4pm.

Joann was born in Atchison, Kansas on November 2, 1946 and was adopted shortly after birth by her parents, Clara and Arthur Pearson.

Joann spent most of her adult life in the medical field working as a certified nurse's assistant and as a medication technician throughout Kansas and Missouri prior to retiring in Columbia, Missouri.

Shortly after her retirement she moved to Versailles, Missouri to be closer to her daughter and grand children, who were the light of her life.

Joann was a reliable source of strength and support to her family and had a servants heart, always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. She lived her life with grace and honesty, and was never afraid of hard work.

If she was not spending time with her family, she was in the yard planting flowers or tending to her many gardens she had over the years. In her younger years, she had a knack of preparing and canning sweet pickles, green beans, tomatoes and apple butter. In addition, she was an amazing cook and could make just about any dish or dessert.

She was an avid decorator and could use just about anything to make a craft. Nothing made her happier than getting a good bargain from a garage sale or a thrift store and then returning home to have her favorite snack, a Diet Coke and a bag of crunchy Cheetos.

Joann was a faithful member of Family Worship Center in Versailles for many years, prior to her health decline. She loved the Lord with all her heart and found comfort in her last days knowing she would be going to heaven to be with Jesus.

Joann is survived by her daughter, Angela Madden and husband, Jim. Granddaughter, Clarissa Repp and husband, Taylor. And grandson, Jesse Herd IV and significant other, Rosie and 4 great grandchildren.
Her memory will forever live in all of our hearts.

Per Joann's wishes there will be no formal service, however the family plans to have a small gathering to celebrate her life. Cremation is under the direction of Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home of Stover, Missouri.

Lastly, the family would like to say a special thank you to Maria at Bristol Manor, Hospice Compassus, St. Mary's Hospital, and Golden Age Living Center who all took great care of her in her final days.
