Mary Ellen James, age 73, longtime resident of Gravois Mills, died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
She was born May 19, 1936, in Proctor, a daughter of Dewey and Erma Davidson Sidebottom.
Mary worked at Rail Fence Restaurant and at the old Drop Anchor Motel and Antique shop, all located in Gravois Mills.
She enjoyed being outdoors, taking long walks and tending to her plants. However, her greatest enjoyment came from the time she could spend with her great grandson, Spencer.
Survivors include, two sons, Andy James and wife Nancy and Michael James all of Gravois Mills; one brother, Jim Sidebottom and wife Jeanie of Stover; one sister, Elpha Gillispie of Excelsior Springs; three grandchildren, Jessica James, Ashlynn James and Shelbie James, her great grandson, Spencer Beckmann, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Roy and Carl Sidebottom and two sisters, Annie Cicala and Opal Meeks.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 22, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover, with the family receiving friends from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. Inurnment will be in the Stover Cemetery.
