Martina M. Wilson

Martina M. Wilson, age 85, of Stover, died Friday, November, 12, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Independence.
She was born July 4, 1925, in Stover, a daughter of Ilo Jay and Myrtle Mary Hinken Turpin. On February 10, 1940, in Sedalia, Martina was united in marriage to Jesse A. Wilson, who preceded her in death November 21, 1991.
For most of her life, Martina was a homemaker, busy raising her family.
She and Jesse made their home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri for many years. They owned and operated the Tucker Hotel from 1965 - 1989. In the late 80's they moved back to Stover, where Martina resided until her health began to fail and she moved to Independence to be near her daughter.
She was a member of the Stover United Methodist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed working puzzle books. Martina had a tender heart and was known for her love of animals. She was also a strong supporter of the DAV.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bruce Kribbs of Independence; five grandchildren, Jesse Kribbs of Independence; Lauren Dobson and husband Tom of Lee's Summit; Shawna Wilson of Greenwood; Jessica Wilson of Leawood, Kansas and Gabe Kribbs of Independence; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Ashton Dobson, also other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Larry Wilson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Rev. Diane Cutler officiating. Interment will be in the Stover Cemetery with Jesse Kribbs, Bruce Kribbs, Gabe Kribbs, Tom Dobson, Bryan Stephenson, and Phil Marriott serving as casket bearers and Don Robinson and Kim Sidebottom serving as honorary bearers.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the New Beginnings Animal Shelter in Stover.
