Marjorie Ann Heim

August 18, 1922 — April 29, 2019

Marjorie Ann Heim, age 96, of Pilot Grove, Missouri passed away early Monday, April 29, 2019 at Boone Hospital in Columbia.

Marjorie was born August 18,1922 to Raymond and Grace Quinlan in Pilot Grove. She was raised and graduated high school in Pilot Grove. Soon after graduation, she traveled to St. Louis, lived with an aunt and attended Beauty School. After completing that course, she moved to Kansas City where she worked as a hairdresser in a shop for a few years.

On December 11, 1944, Marjorie married Milton G. "Bus" Heim who was a Navy Seebee. Marjorie worked at the Munitions Plant in Lake City, Mo. After WWII they moved to Blackwater, Mo. and started their life together as farmers. Marjorie worked hard, as farm wives and mothers do; raising a garden, canning, cooking, cleaning and taking care of their two daughters, that had added joy to their good life together.

They moved to Howard County in 1965 and were there until moving back to their home town of Pilot Grove in 1995. Marjorie worked over 15 years at McGraw Edison Co. in Boonville. Marjorie lost Milton in January of 2001 after 57 years of marriage but continued to live in Pilot Grove to be close to her daughter and sisters.

Marjorie belonged to the Red Hat Club, enjoyed gardening and hunting mushrooms every spring. She had a special talent for raising all varieties of flowers and always creating spectacular displays. One of her favorite activities was attending and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in sporting events. The greatest love of her life was her family. Marjorie was a longstanding member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was the first of four generations to attend St. Joseph Catholic School.

Those preceding Marjorie Ann Heim in death were her parents; her husband Milton; her brothers Earl and Wilbur Quinlan; and her sister Doris Koonse. Sadly, her brother Wilbur (at age 98) just passed away at the end of December 2018 and her sister Doris (at age 92) recently passed away in February of this year, 2019.

Surviving Marjorie Ann Heim are her daughters Patricia Ann Rentel and her husband R.J. of Pilot Grove, and Barbara Jean Garner and her husband Gary of Madison, South Dakota; sister Wilma Embrey of Pilot Grove; brother Jerry Quinlan and wife Loretta of Boonville; grandsons Robbi (Angie), Todd, Timm (Jennifer), and Russell (Amanda) Rentel, and Matt and Jon (Cory) Garner; 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
