Marion Marie Drake

Marion M. Drake, age 92, passed away Friday evening September 18 at Tipton Oak Manor with family at her side.

Marion, one of five children, was born January 11, 1923 in Fortuna, Missouri to Gilbert and Sarah (Sallie) Hutchison.

Arnold Glenn Drake and Marion were married May 23, 1942 and made their life together in Tipton, Missouri for almost 67 years until his passing May 13, 2009. Together they raised their daughter Connie who has also made her life in Tipton with her husband Don Hofstetter.

Marion was employed as a bookkeeper at the Commerce Bank approximately 25 years. Bridge was a favored pastime of Marion's and she also enjoyed the game of golf. Spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her much joy.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Hobert, Preston and Tom Hutchison; and sister Wilma Gates.

Those surviving Marion are daughter Connie Hofstetter and her husband Don of Tipton; granddaughters Tina Brant and her husband George of Tipton and Kristy Campbell and her husband Shawn of Cole Camp, Missouri; great grandchildren Jeremy, Riley and Alyson Brant, Sydney and Ashley Campbell; also a very close and caring friend Karen Parker.

Funeral services for Marion M. Drake will be 11:00 AM Wednesday September 23 at the Tipton United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at the Masonic Cemetery in Tipton, Missouri.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Tipton United Methodist Church or Tipton Oak Manor resident activity fund.
