Margie Marie Fahrni-Schneider, 89, of Russellville, died December 11, 2014, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis.
She was born January 11, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Joe and Florence (George) Procter.
She was married July 27, 1944 to Freman Fahrni, who preceded her in death on August 13, 1997. On February 21, 2004, she was married to LeRoy Schneider who resides at the home.
Margie was a graduate of Russellville High School, Central Missouri State Teachers’ College in Warrensburg, Missouri and graduated from Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
She began her teaching career in the Corinth and Enon Rural Schools, then spent eleven years in the Russellville School System and fourteen years in the Jefferson City Public School System, retiring in 1980. After retiring she wrote the Procter/Proctor Genealogy Book.
Margie became a Christian and member of the Enon Baptist Church at age eleven. She had been a member of Corticelli Baptist Church since 1970, where she taught Sunday School classes, Vacation Bible School and Bible Drill classes for many years and also served as church treasurer for twelve years.
Margie served on the Board of Regents at St. Marys Health Center for six years and was a volunteer in St. Marys’ Intensive Care/Surgery waiting room for three years.
She was a member of Retired Teacher’s Association of Missouri and Cole County Retired Teacher’s Association. She was also an active member of the Russellville High School Alumni Association, serving as an officer for many years.
Besides her husband, LeRoy, Margie is also survived by a son, Don (LouAnn) Fahrni, Russellville; a granddaughter, Penny (Jeremy) Knoche, Russellville, two great grandchildren, Caleb and Ava Knoche, LeRoy’s children, John (Ana) Schneider, Los Angeles, California and Jean (Dale) Andersen, Stanton, North Carolina; LeRoy’s grandsons, Jacob, Josh, Daniel, Benjamin and Samuel Andersen, LeRoy’s granddaughter’s, Sarah Hercilla and Mary and Kathy Schneider and LeRoy’s great grandchildren, Rosie, Lillie and Sami Hercilla and Amelia, Olivia and Hazel Andersen.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, at Corticelli Baptist Church, west of Russellville, with Dr. Rick Seaton officiating. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, December 15, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to Corticelli Baptist Church Building Fund.
